This summer:  Rainy Day Crafternoons

For rainy days when there isn't already another class scheduled, we have some impromptu make & take class ideas.  Please call ahead that day to inquire about whether we are having a crafternoon event, the project, cost, and to reserve your seat.

The following classes require advance reservations.  Your seat will be reserved upon payment of the class fee.

Scrapper’s Afternoon  every other Tuesday, at 2pm.  Grab a handful of fabric from your stash and come along for a fun afternoon.  Presenting a scrap frindly block or pattern each time.  $5

Advanced Piecing Workshops Every other Tuesday - NEW TIME - 6pm.  Learn a different block at each session, to challenge you and build your skills.  Helpful for the confident beginner or intermediate quilter.  $8

Knitting Class: Simple Slip Stitches

Wednesday, July 28, 6-8pm

Slip stitches are terrific for creating interesting textures and complex color blends by surprisingly simple techniques.  In this knitting class, we’ll play with effects of slipping stitches with the working yarn to the front and to back of the knitted fabric.  We’ll also apply basic slip stitches to different “backgrounds” (stockinette, garter, ribbing, seed).  $20

Photos + Fabric + Embellishments

Using an ink jet printer and photo fabric, transfer images to fabric and incorporate those photos into memory quilts, memory books,  tote bags, garments, and more. A variety of embellishment techniques will be covered to enhance your photos on fabric.  $15

Like painting with fabric!  Start with an inspirational photo of nature and create your own stunning fabric interpretation of it. 

Kaleidoscope Quilts

2 day class: Tuesdays, August 9 and August 23.

Not recommended for the beginner, this class is best suited to the intermediate or experienced quilter. The first class will be presented in staggered sessions of two students each, to allow the instructor to work more closely with each student.  All students will come together in the second session.  We will begin by

covering the fabric selection criteria, which is so critical to the kaleidoscope effect.  

Then learn the cutting and piecing techniques.  In the second session, we'll demonstrate assembly steps and strategies for block placement to achieve maximum wow factor.

Paper Piecing:  The Majestic Fir

Session A: August 10.  Session B: August 24

This is a wonderful project for anyone wanting to learn how to paper piece, or anyone who just wants to make a handsome wall hanging!  The Majestic Fir will be presented in two sessions. The first session is all about the paper piecing.  In the second session we will cover making flange borders, and the raw edge applique techniques needed to complete the top.

Attend Session A only for $18, or attend both sessions for $28
