Jelly Roll Rug Class



From one Jelly Roll (or any forty-two 2-1/2 inch fabric strips, and 100 percent cotton batting, you can make an awesome rug, approximately 30" x 44" for your home or cottage!   Class meets twice.  (Sept. 25, Oct. 9) In the first class, you will learn how to prepare the fabric and batting and begin stitching the tube.  In the second class, you will begin stitching the rows together and learn how to end your rug.  
 

Supply List    
- Forty-two fabric strips each 2-1/2 inches x Width of Fabric OR  One "Jelly Roll"
- 100% Cotton Batting 1-1/4 yards of 96" wide (can use twin) OR Two Rolls (2-1/2in x 25 yd each) precut batting 
- Large Spool of thread (at least 1200 yards)    
- A fresh, new, Jeans sewing needle, size 16 or 18.  
- Batting Seam Tape or glue stick

Before coming to class:
- Join all of your fabric strips end to end, on the diagonal (mitered seam) before coming to class. Press seams open.
- Wind 3 full bobbins
- If you are not using the precut batting, cut your batting into 2-1/2 inch strips before coming to class.  You will need approximately 50 yards in length.

Requirements: Must know how to operate sewing machine change needle, and be able to adjust tension.
