Placemat Palooza for Meals on Wheels

Join us for our final 2019 Meals on Wheels Benefit Event on October 29.  Click here to sign up or call 231-922-6766.

The event will take place at InterQuilten. The room will be open 11am to 3pm.Feel free to bring a beverage and/or lunch.

Placemat Palooza i
s our annual drive to make and collect placemats and Walker bags to go out to seniors and shut-ins served by the Meals on Wheels program.  The placemats we collect are delivered by MOW Drivers with clients' Holiday Meal in December.

We have already exceeded our goal of 500 for this year!  WOW!  So, we will be focusing on making walker bags at our final event on October 29.

We provide fabrics (and we accept fabrics donated by anyone wishing to help or wanting just to clean up their stash!)  Bringing your own fabric is fine as well.  We also provide flannel  as a replacement for batting, because we are asked to make the Meals on Wheels placemats thin.

We will demonstrate a different pattern or technique on each date.  Why not come and learn a new technique that you can later use to make gifts of your own?

Can't make it to one of our events?  There are other ways to help: Get together with friends to make placemats; enlist the help of your guild; Clean out your stash and donate fabric.

We will be accepting donated placemats and walker bags until early December.
