Str!p Club Monthly

Gather your quilting BFFs and join us for the monthly Str!p Club.  We will be making a different kind of strip quilts/projects each month.
The Str!p Club will meet the second Monday of the month from 6-9 pm.  You can join anytime.

Supply list for May:

  • Pile of fabric strips and scraps from your scrap bin (or a jelly roll). Make sure at least some are 13.5" long.  The widths can vary.
  • 7-8 WOF cut into 1.5” strips. They should be all the same fabric and contrast with the other strips; i.e., black or white or cream or dark blue, etc.
At least 20 muslin or lightweight, non-fusible stabilizer (Pattern-Ease) cut into 9” squares.

If you wish to do your blocks as quilt as you go, you will need the following:
  • 1” wide strips of a focus fabric to make “sashing” for the blocks. Unlike the rest of your strings, these strips should be cut neatly so they are all the same width.
  • 20 backing squares cut into 9" squares
  • 20 batting squares cut into 9" squares
General supplies:

  • Sewing machine with manual and power cords.
  • Denim/jeans or Top Stitch, or Quilting needle, size 14 or 16. A large needle makes it easier to pierce the foundation.
  • Neutral colored 50 wt. thread (light grey or beige both work well.)
  • Rotary cutter with new blade.
  • 8.5” square ruler for squaring up the blocks.
  • Pins or fabric glue to hold the block’s center strip in place for sewing.
  • Marking pen or pencil
