Once you know the tricks, paper piecing can be very fun. It's a great way to get sharp points and make shapes you just can't make with regular piecing techniques. We will be using Kimberbell's paper piecing book and making a table runner with the watermelon, flag and boat or you could choose any of the squares in the book. You could also choose to make potholders.
Supply list: any questions please don't hesitate to contact me (Jean)
Fabric: Kit recommended, or bring fat quarters in colors needed.
Kimberbell Sew It By Number and book
Add a quarter ruler, 6" or 12"
glue stick or pen-style glue stick
finger press
rotary cutter
small cutting mat
if you have a small iron and iron pad it is helpful
sewing machine (and always bring your manual)
any notions that are your favorite for sewing
notebook for taking notes
If you are doing potholders you will need insulbrite and cottor batting
if you are doing the table runner you will need thermalom for batting
homework would be for you to have all pieces cut out before class-if you are doing table runner don't cut out the piece labeled backing but if you are doing the table runner you will need backing
The reason I choose these three for our project is there is a pattern in the back of book but you could use those measurement of other squares.
