Christmas Tree Card Holder

Make a really simply made but beautiful and useful Christmas Card Holder.  By using different fabrics you could create a Birthday card holder, other holidays or a picture holder. 

Supply list:
Book:  Five-Minute Quilt Blocks
Sewing Machine
Scissors and seam ripper
Long ruler, rotary cutter and mat
Curved basting pins 
Batting (thermolam) 17" x 49"
Backing 1/3 yard
Have your fabric cut out before class - See Cutting Chart, below.
Folded Corner Clipper Tool and Cutrite 
Bind Up tool suggested.

Fabric Cutting Chart    
 Tree (geese) Assorted medium greens: 5 rectangles, 4-3/4" x 9" each
 Backgrounds Assorted Light/Ivory: 
10  pieces, each 5" x 5"
1 piece 5" x 9-1/2"
2 pieces 4" x 5"
 Pocket  Dark red: 2 pieces, each 9-1/2" x 10"
 Trunk  Very dark (grey or brown) 1 piece, 2-1/2" x 5"
Star and Binding 3/8 yard total. Cut from that a 5" square and
apply fusible web to the back of that square. From the remainder, cut 3 binding strips.
