10 light value fat quarters, 10 dark value fat quarters, or the equivalent in scraps. Strips must be at least 1-1/2 inches wide and 2-1/4 inches wide, but wider is ok.
Sewing machine in working order with all cords and manual, 1/4" foot installed.
