Free Motion Quilting
In this class, we will get minds, muscles, materials, and our machines ready for successful free motion machine quilting.

Sewing machine with |
Extension table Free Motion or "darning" foot |
Grid Glider (preferred) | or Sew Slip or Supreme Slider |
Quilting gloves | |
Good quality thread | (bring a full bobbin, too) |
Scissors or thread snips | |
Curved basting Pins | |
Basic sewing supplies | |
Pencil and notebook/pad of paper | (unlined) |
Removeable marking pen/pencil | and small ruler |
Cut all pieces (backing, front, and batting at least 12 inches square. Pin the corners with curved basting pins. If your practice sandwich is larger, you may need to place another pin in the center. If using basting spray instead of pinning, lightly spray both sides of the batting pieces, then place backing wrong side up and center the batting on top. Put top fabric on top of batting.
Requirements: | Please arrive 10 minutes before class time to set up, and have practice sandwiches prepared before you arrive. |
