
Foundation Paper Piecing Basics

Foundation Paper Piecing, also known simply as paper piecing, is a technique that uses a paper or fabric foundation to stabilize a quilt block during construction. The technique involves sewing fabrics to paper to create intricate shapes or details in quilt blocks. Once the quilt block is completed, the paper is removed.
Preprinted foundations are included in this class.

Sewing Machine with: | Manual, fresh sharp needle (not universal), size 80/12 quality thread, open toe foot (zig zag foot, applique foot, etc.) |

Usual sewing supplies: | Pins, scissors, small cutting mat, small rotary cutter (28 mm recommended, 45mm is OK) a ruler for trimming blocks(i.e. 2-1/2 x 12 inch or similar) |
