Jacob's Cradle Runner
This table runner showcases the Cat’s Cradle block to perfection and is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use the tool. In case you are not familiar with this block, it is basically a half-square triangle with a square centered on one of the triangles. To piece it traditionally, you would have to cut two different sizes of triangles, deal with bias edges, and hope for the best.
With the Cat’s Cradle Tool, three rectangles and two squares is all you need to cut to create two blocks! And, since the block is trimmed after cutting, sewing and pressing, they are all the exact same size for perfection is guaranteed!
Turning the blocks creates this pattern that is like Jacob’s Ladder, hence the name. What a great way to learn a new technique and use up some scraps of five-inch squares.
